Floral Appleton

Hello my darlings,

Long time no see!

Today I bring you my Appleton, the first pattern by Cashemerette. You must have seen it around already (#appleton #wrapdress #appletondress). It has been making curvy gals crazy about their curves. The appeal for it is that it has been designed for women with curves. Sizes 12 – 28, and cup sizes from C to H. It is fantastic to be a curvy and not to need intensive pattern modifications to make this pattern.

Funny story, my friend Myriam gifted this pattern to me. She came up with the idea to do this, as soon as the pattern came out. She warned me to not get the pattern for myself because I would be getting in the mail  as my advanced birthday present… Little did she know that I purchased the pattern right after I saw the launch… Certainly before I saw her e-mail… I ended up gifting her the pattern I had bought for myself and we now both have it.

For this make, I was inspired by the lovely floral dress Jen made for the pattern launch. Don’t you think it is just beautiful?

Wouldn’t it be bliss to have all those flowers hugging your body? That’s just what I thought! I thus used a floral print I had in my stash to make this dress. I bought it in Chabanel in one of my trips with my friend Myriam.

Pattern modifications:

According to my body measurements, I had to grade between three different sizes.

If you need a tutorial for this modification, Jen has written through grading instructions in the sew-along. It is very complete, you should check it out if you have any questions.

The pattern instructions were clear and the construction was easy. All pieces are very well-marked and graded so all notches come together nicely at the right place.

I adore this dress!! It is so very comfortable has very good overall coverage. It accentuates the figure and covers imperfections where needed.  It is so comfortable that I was sitting on the ground that same night I wore it with no problems.

BTW, this is the first wrap dress I had ever made and now I know what all Jen’s craziness is about. I’m a convert!

This pattern makes me really excited and I’m already looking forward to the next one!

For this photo shoot we were at Maison Christian Faure in Old Montreal for the graduation of my friend Tiana. The pastries she and all the other students made were fantastic! If you happen to be strolling around Old Montreal and are craving for pastries, this is the place!
